Pooky night

is celebrating in style as usual. If you are easily scared and hate gory images do not click on the google image *wink*.

Instead you might want to click on this .

Halloween is not celebrated here, except at night spots. Just more reasons to party for the boozing kind. Me? I hope to play a few sessions of DotA before the day is over and head back home to hug my baby.

Happy Pooky night.

DotA 6.19 AI

Been doing pretty good on DotA. More wins then losses lately. I prefer strength heroes. You have to be patient early game, but you get to be strong late game. The strategy is, try not to let the range and intelligence heroes destroy too much of your towers early game, and you should win the game.

My favorite DoTA hero is the Treeant. Awesome hero, which hero allows you to hide, plant all seeing wards around the map and do an area stun that does damage. Excellent team player and a hero killer. Treeant has the best armour as of DotA Map 6.19b and before.

Anyway, I just found out, through Teh Blarg, that there is a new AI map, 6.19 by Cloud_str. Yipee! Its been awhile since an ai map was released. The last one by Karising was great despite some shortfalls, but given the complexities of doing an AI map I am grateful to both Karising and Cloud_str. AI maps are handy when you have no access to the net, and need to familiarise with new heroes (to me) or item build.

Recently a few people have tried to convert me over to World of Warcraft (WoW). Some are even promoting these free servers. I am amaze. I didn't know you could run a private WoW server. Wouldn't Blizzard shut you down? And why spend precious time building a virtual alter ego only to lose it when the world is no more? Being free, what is their service agreement? They don't have to oblige do they? By the way I am not against subscription based games. Just not going to waste my time and money. Besides, one bad habit(DotA) is enough. Given the amount of time practicing, I could have reduced my golf handicap by half and be healthier.

Quiet family weekend

Nice to be spending time with the family. Nothing eventful, but lots for my MIL. She went shopping on Saturday, while my lil family enjoyed the ambience at TTC. Tried their coconut latte not bad.

As for today, just house keeping and a short walk in the park.

Just done with a Jackie Chan movie. Had to pause mid way as my baby was kicking up a fuss.

Baby is sleeping now, all is quiet. I am going to sleep too.

Cool storage

Isn't this flash drive cute? They're from Mimoco a toy company in US. A little expensive though, but definitely an attention grabbing accessory. For now my trusty usb 1.0 thumb drive will do. Although its 256MB, it works for me. Or is it? Tiny portable storage devices comes in many forms these days, from the arty farty to the mega sized for geeks, where the hard drive is the new bling. Seagate's 5GB pocket hard drive also not bad.

Storage capacity will increase and prices will fall per GB. Yes GB, I can't believe I just used GB instead of KB. Seems like only yesterday when I was one of the few in my class who had 250MB hard drive. Yes those days the 5.25" floppy disk was in. But I wonder, what junk will we be carrying around?
"Oh, I have the entire series of Friends, Lost, Desperate house wives and my dad's favourite, Hawaii-Five O."
And how often do you watch them? Do you need them at all?

Looks like I will be sticking with my 256MB thumb drive for awhile, until the next big storage thing becomes too cheap to resist. Go china, go! hahahaha...

Biking Bungle

I am always wary when travelling in groups on a bike. Looks like this outing takes the cake. Hope everyone involved isn't too badly hurt. Oncoming riders just cleared a hill, so they could not see what was ahead. Hope they are ok.

Rambling Tuesday

Woke up later then usual. Had a couple of drinks last night, came back past midnight. Nothing unusual. Normally work past midnight every weekday, but I must say alcohol does help the blood flow and helps you sleep.

Anyways, halloween is around the corner, if you are on a tight budget on costumes and have a colour printer nearby, try printing these american celebrity masks, they look eerie with the eyes cut out.

Interestingly Cenk Uygur just made a logic bashing post at The Huffington Post.

I love you too!

A man escapes from a prison where he's been locked up for 15
years. He breaks into a house to look for money and guns.
Inside, he finds a young couple in bed. He orders the guy
out of bed and ties him to a chair.

While tying the homeowner's wife to the bed, the convict
gets on top of her, kisses her neck, then gets up and goes
into the bathroom.

While he's in there, the husband whispers over to his wife:
"Listen, this guy is an escaped convict. Look at his
clothes! He's probably spent a lot

of time in jail and hasn't seen a woman in years. I saw how
he kissed your neck. If he wants sex, don't resist, don't
complain... do whatever he tells you. Satisfy him no matter
how much he nauseates you. This guy is obviously very
dangerous. If he gets angry, he'll kill us both. Be strong,
honey. I love you!"

His wife responds: "He wasn't kissing my neck. He was
whispering in my ear. He told me that he's gay, thinks
you're cute, and asked if we had any Vaseline. I told him it
was in the bathroom. Be strong honey. I love you, too!"

Ugly Singaporeans

Yeah! I applaud 'Semi-charmed kinda Life' for blogging his daily encounters with ugly singaporeans. These are the kind of people I have come across numerous times.

Sadly, despite reaching developed country status, the manners and behaviour of a certain part of the population have not caught up. It is even worst when these people are educated. Wassup with you guys?

Earlier I wrote about the bad behaviour of Sengkang commuters, well things are still the same and will probably be so for a looong while.

Still busy. Trying to finish up so I can clear my year end leave. The least I've done on this blog is to change the background, it looks nicer with images. Well lunch is up. Work work..

Pressure cooked

Pressure, pressure, pressure. Yes that is why I did not blog for awhile... argh! Been sleeping 4 hours daily for the most part of this year. Dead lines are always dued last week. Health is low, sleep little, consume oily food, no exercise, hours staring at the monitor, 1 man army, etc... argh! Not surprised, bad year for my sign as predicted by geomancers. Need to reap more good karma.
